SCFRA's first annual FFI Academy held May-Day! Firefighter Down training on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Training Grounds in Franklin, VA. Students were lead through practical scenarios by Franklin Fire & Rescue Chief Vince Holt, Boykins Fire Chief Danny Bolton, and SCFRA Training Instructor Jerry Beaton. Scenarios included navigating a course through a building while blindfolded and being caught in wires, chains, and a floor collapse. Students had to recognize and report a May-Day to incident command and give their LUNAR (Location, Unit, Name, Air supply, Resources needed) report. Pictures can be found in our Media Gallery.
